The Giving Tree
By: Shel Silverstein 5 Stars Genre: Fiction 8th Grade The theme in this story is If you love something you will have to sacrifice some things.A boy and a tree become best friends.Then the boy grows older and he keeps asking the tree for things.The tree keeps giving the boy everything that he wants.In the end the tree asks the boy for something and the gives it to the tree.If you love something you will have to sacrifice things that means you will have to give things up for the people you love.The tree gives the boys things that she needs but the tree gives it to the boy.But in the end the tree asks for something and the boy gives it to the tree. I rated the book the way I did because I thought it was interesting. And I think that other people should too.

Yeah I have read this book before and it is kind of sad at the end but such a good book!
