Shadow of the Mark
By: Leigh Fallon 4 Stars Genre: Fiction, Science-Fiction, Fantasy Jazmin C. 8th Grade " Shadow of the Mark " by Leigh Fallon has a basic theme, but its unique to the story. The author left you in her earlier book on the fact that the two main characters, Megan and Adam, can not keep seeing each other because of the history of those before them, but in the new book this is not their only problem. The elements are getting strong and are making the characters drawn to each other in harsh ways. For instance, Megan begins feeling affections Adam's brother( Rian ) because their elements want to be close. This becomes a side problem when Megan finds out she is a Cluain and can take the elements away from the DeRises. Megan goes through problem after problem and is still experiencing problems, she states at the end of the book " I was going to do everything in my power to make the circle come full. This time, the Order would lose. The marked line will end with me. ". The theme; persevere with problems is supported constantly throughout the book. I enjoyed reading this book, it was full of adventure and the author did a good job at making the story well detailed. If you like to be kept on your toes this book is for you. Its suspenseful, romantic, well written and just jammed packed with activity. I would give it five stars but if you miss a little bit you're lost. The Fire Within
By: Chris d'Lacey 5 Stars Genre: Fantasy Zayne Bouchard 8th Grade The Fire Within, by Chris d'Lacey, and is the first book in the series, The Last Dragon Chronicles. It starts in the small town of Scrubbley with a tenant named David, has moved down to Scrubbley from Blackburn to settle down and get a good college education. The mother, Elizabeth (aka Liz) and her daughter, Lucy, are a very unique family who makes clay dragons. David soon finds out the Pennykettle's home is more unique than he thought. One reason I rated this book the way I did was because I personally love fantasy books and dragons and want all dragon-lovers, fantasy-lovers, and mystery-lovers to take their time to read these books. There's so many interesting parts in this series and usually at the end of every chapter. I think it's so worth it to at least try out this book and read the other books as well. Memoirs of a parrot

One of her best friends that helped her survive was a bird and they did not want to leave each other but Roz said that it was not safe for them to still be together because of the Big Robot. Well the reason that I rated the book a four instead of a 5 star was because in the middle of the book it kinda lost me . Over all the book was really good had a lot of feelings in the story that made you feel what the character was feeling .The detail of where they were great. worth
