Island of Legends
By: Lisa Mcmann 4 Stars Genre: Fiction, Fantasy, Dystopian Chisum Massey 8th Grade “Island of Legends” is a book wrote by Lisa Mcmann and is about not leaving anyone behind.Alex gets a crew together to rescue Sky and Crow's mother ,Copper, from Pirate Island, a volcano that sinks and resurfaces every day. Alex and his crew reach the volcano just as it became active and sank into the ocean. They wait for it to resurface and continue with the rescue operation. The crew got it into their minds that they aren’t leaving this island without Copper. The active sinking volcano island may make the rescue effort take longer than hoped but it will not stop Alex and his crew from rescuing Copper. I rated the book the way I did because I like fantasies but there are some parts that i'm not going to talk about that could be better. I would reccomend this book to fans of the Hunger Games or Harry Potter.

Alex and Aaron Stowe both 13 years old, it is the day of the yearly Purge where the group of 13 year olds will be determined Wanted, Necessary, or Unwanted. While the Wanted brother Aaron goes off to university the Unwanted brother due to his many creative infractions will be sent to the death farm with the rest of the Unwanteds. While all their lives the children of Quill were taught that creativity is a bad thing- they are now discovering that creativity might just be the most powerful superpower. The Unwanteds is a very amazing book. It is well written and easy to follow. I recommend this book to anyone seeking a good book to read. |
