The Ranger's Apprentice: Erak's Randsom
By: John Flanagan 4 Stars Genre: Fiction, Realistic Fiction Robert 8th Grade Now, in the wake of Araluen's uneasy truce with the raiding Skandians leader, Erak, has been captured by a desert tribe. The "Rangers" along with a small party of warriors, are sent to free him. But the desert is like nothing else these warriors have faced before. Strangers in the land, they are brutalized by sandstorms, beated by unrelenting heat tricked by a tribe that plays by its own rules, and surprisingly befriended by another. But one thing remains, the way one fights for a friend. I rated this book four stars because of the way it entertains. This is a book easy to read, has action and thrills. I would have gave it five stars if it was shorter, but five stars is not easily earned.I would recommend this to people that like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, or any other related books.
